COURSE DETAILS & Map of Run

Starting in Wainuiomata, at the bottom of Wainuiomata Hill on the grass verge next to the Puriri Track, runners start when tagged by their road cyclist and then head into the Puriri Track. Puriri Track takes runners uphill for approx 1k to a junction. The course turns left here onto the Mt Lowry Ridge track and continues uphill for approx 3k until it meets the Ferry Road track. Ferry Road track veers right onto a 2k long downhill to Ferry Road, above Days Bay.  Continue downhill to the bottom of Ferry Road, running on the outside of the corners and then onto the left hand footpath. Just 10m before the very bottom of Ferry Road, turn hard left down a short flight of steps into a large parking bay. Run across the parking bay and then turn hard left into the gates of Wellesley College where you have just 100m to the finish outside the main building.

  • There are no road, water or track closures. All roads, parks, beaches, farmland & bush tracks are open. All competitors must obey all road rules & take full responsibility for your movements. You must giveway to all other vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Runner should line up for the start inside the transition area. Cyclists will be ushered off the road into transition to tag you.
  • The race bib must be worn clearly and over top of clothing.
  • Runners are asked to warm up on the grass area beside Puriri Track, rather than on Wainuiomata streets. Extreme caution is also needed on Ferry Road, which is very steep and windy and narrow.
