Multisport FAQ

 

1.  As an individual can I do 3 of the 4 legs?

Yes this is fine however you will not be able to receive a prize unless there are 5 or more individual competitors in your session.

 

2.  As an individual will we get a trophy/medal?

Yes as long as there are 5 or more individual competitors.

 

3.  Will the Pencarrow Station be open before hand?

No for three reasons:-

1.  The farmer has stock there

2.  It is used for horse trecking

3.  Private land

 

4.  The course will it be marked out beforehand?

No it will not be marked out beforehand.

 

5.  How long is the sea kayak?

This is approximately 6.5 kilometres long

 

6.  Where does the sea kayak start?

This starts at Days Bay

 

7.  How long is the Mountain Bike

This is approximately 25 kilometres long and starts at Days Bay and finishes at Pencarrow Station.

 

8.  How long is the Road Bike

The Road Bike is 26km and starts from Pencarrow Station and finishes in Karaka Street.

 

9.   How long is the Run?

The run is 7km long it starts at Karaka Street turn right into Ngaio Street, left up Wainuiomata Road, left onto the Puriuri Track.  Then follow Days Bay Track to the Mt Lowry Summit, undulating track across the top and down Ferry Road Track.  Near the bottom of the Ferry Road turn left into Kotari road and right into the back entrance of Wellesley College in Days Bay.

 

10.  What time is Registration

Registration is 5.30 – 6.30pm on Friday 12 October at Chicago Sport Cafe, Queenswharf.  Out of town people can register at 6.45am on the Saturday but must contact organizers beforehand.

 

11.  What time is the briefing?

This is directly after Registration at 7am at Wellesley College

 

12. Where is the prize giving?

This will be at Wellesley School, approximately 30 minutes after the last team. 

 

13.  What do we get for our Entry Fee?

You will get a race pack and also yummy recovery feed at the prize giving, sports towel and goodies.

 

14.  When is the closing date?

The early bird closing date will be Friday 5 October 2007

 

15. Do you accept any late entries?

Yes we will do up to Tuesday 9 October 2007 but there will be an additional fee of $30 we will not accept any entries after Tuesday 9 October 2007.

 

16.   How many people do you require for the Business House mixed teams?

You will require 3- 4 team members including one member of the opposite sex.

 

17. How many people for the open team?

You will require 3 – 4 team members

 

18. How many people for the Open Tryathalon Team.

You will need 2-3 team members and do just three legs, there will be no kayak section.

 

19.   How many people for the open two person team?

You will need 2 people in a team doing the four legs between the two.

 

20.  Who has to attend briefing?

For safety reasons we request that all team members attend registration and briefing.

 

21.  Where can we hire kayaks?

Fergs have a big selection they run out quickly so don’t leave it until the last minute.
